Top 5 Products of 2018 | Zoe Major Beauty Blog

I can not believe 2018 is over. This year had truly flown by! I feel like I am getting to the point with beauty/skincare etc where I am settling down into finding true staples and favourites, rather than trying and discovering lots of new products. This means, my top 5 post this year might be a little samey. I have mentioned these products so many times before as, like I said, I've found my favourites! I also found myself having to really think about what was new and I had to remove some from the list that I remembered I had mentioned in last years post (Click here to read my 2017 Top 5!) Lets get started..

Dermalogica Daily SuperFoliant // £55 (still can't get over the price..)
This one was an easy one to be fair. Not only a new discovery in 2018 but again, an absolute staple in my skincare routine now! This stuff is. so. bloody. good! If your skin ever feels a bit gross, gritty, congested, bumpy, dull.. You need this. It is an instant savior. You apply it once and your skin will instantly look and feel amazing! I love it for when my skin feels particularly congested and gritty as it instantly removes texture and leaves the skin feeling and looking so smooth. It is my skincare go-to, it has never let me down! It is perfect for before a night out, big event.. Anything where you want your skin to instantly look and feel renewed. I honestly cannot recommend it enough!

Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer // £4 (£7 for Supersize)
This concealer is so bloody good I am genuinely upset that I stocked up on Tarte ShapeTape (and paid £50 odd for 2 bottles...) right before I discovered this 'cause I will not be going back! For £4 this concealer is truly amazing. It has a fantastic, inclusive shade range which is amazing but the actual concealer is great. It is full coverage yet blends out so easily to give a really natural finish. It never looks cakey or heavy on my skin and always lasts all day. It is quite matte so works really nicely on my oily skin, yet is not dry or chalky looking at all. I honestly love it so much! The Supersize is a total steal at only £7 and is usually always on 3 for 2 so I make sure to stock up!

I hate talking about eyeshadows because I am just not very good at it. I ain't not Jaclyn Hill so I feel like a bit of a fraudster when I try and talk fancy about eyeshadow but basically, the Anastasia Soft Glam palette is beautiful, versatile and overall just great. You can create a variety of different looks with just this one palette- I've worn it for going out looks and for a simple, very lazy every day look. I love all the matte warm shades (shocker) they blend beautifully and have great pigment. I find it more wearable than the Modern Renaissance palette (which I do love, of course) for an everyday look and definitely reach for Soft Glam more.

Benefit POREfessional // £30ish
To be honest, I have had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Benefit POREfessional. Simply because if I apply just the slightest bit too much it balls up on my face and causes my base to stick to it in a patchy mess. Therefor, I do not use this as an all over primer, I actually couldn't imagine anything worse, all I do with this is apply a very, very small amount to areas that I have large pores. This tends to be the sides of my nose/cheeks. I take it and really blend it into the skin using my fingers to ensure it is completely meshed/smoothed into my skin. I also apply a small amount on my chin as it helps to keep that area looking smooth (problem area with congestion) For this, it works really well. It disguises pores instantly and smooths out the base really well. If you struggle with large pores, I highly recommend this because despite the fact I don't enjoy it as an overall primer, it does do what it says on the tin in terms of sorting out the appearance of large pores.

Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser // £36
Ah, such a staple in my skincare routine. I feel like this must have made an appearance in some kind of top product list of mine before. I don't think I will ever use another moisturiser, to be honest. Having an oily but dehydrated skin type is tricky- I need something that is super lightweight, yet still hydrating, that sinks in quickly but feels great on the skin. Clinique Moisture surge does just that. I love the texture- a super lightweight (pink, yay) gel, that sinks in immediately to the skin. I love how plump and hydrated my skin feels after this. I think it is perfect! Paired up with my Vichy Mineral 89 serum (mentioned last year and is still truly a favourite!) makes the ultimate duo for oily/dehydrated skin types.
