The Body Shop Oils of Life Cleansing Oil in Gel REVIEW

Another day, another cleanser for me to drool over. Today's contestant is the new Oil in Gel cleanser from The Body Shop. It belongs to the Oils of Life range, which is one of the skincare ranges I recommend the most from The Body Shop. All the products contain pure, cold pressed seed oils that work wonders on the skin.
So, The Body Shop have expanded the Oils of Life to now include their first ever cleanser in the range, which is so exciting! I feel like this is a product that so many people are going to love.

Like all the products in the Oils of Life range, the Oil in Gel cleanser does of course include your seed oils. The main ingredients being:

- Rosehip oil (Rich in omegas, which help to replenish and repair skin.)
Black cumin seed oil (Great for healing the skin and acts as an antioxidant)
- Camellia seed oil (Leaves skin smoother, hydrated and more resilient)

The Oil in Gel cleanser also contains olive oil, which is great for improving the overall condition of the skin, especially in terms of elasticity. And also sunflower seed oil. Lovely!

So, we know the Oil in Gel cleanser contains some amazing ingredients, but how does it actual perform on the skin? As the name suggests, it is a gel texture- although I would describe it more as a rich balm when first applied. And oooft, do I love a good buttery cleanser! As you massage the product onto the skin, it begins to break down into an oil. As it does start off quite thick, it takes a little longer than a usual gel/oil cleanser to break down but once it does it melts beautifully over the skin. I love the slightly richer texture, I feel like it gives the product that extra luxurious feel. If you want, you can add a drop of water which will cause the oil to emulsify into a lightweight milk, which is easily rinsed off.

I would say, even though the Oil in Gel will effectively remove makeup, the ingredients are that good I'd save it for a good second cleanse! If you'd like a great makeup remover to use first, I'd recommend the Camomile Cleansing Oil (all skin types) or the Camomile Cleansing Butter (dry skin) as these are both great at removing all makeup in prep for a second cleanse! Of course it leaves no residue and is rinsed off the skin easily with warm water and a flannel.

I'd also give it a thumbs up for all skin types. It is light enough for an oily skin but nourishing enough for a dry skin.
It comes in at £12 for 100ml, which I think is a great price point for the quality of the product. Also, as it has that lovely rich texture, that then breaks down into an oil, a pea-sized amount will do you fine, so your product should last a decent amount of time.

Have you used the Oils of Life Oil in Gel Cleanser before? I'd love to know your thoughts in the comments below!
