Oliver Bonus Marble Coaster DUPE | Matalan Home

You know when you find something SO good you just can't wait to tell anyone and everyone about it? That is me today. I am so excited to be writing this post about the best steal/bargain/dupe I have come across in a long time.

I have been drooling over the Oliver Bonus marble coasters for the longest time. Every time I am in store I pop in hoping they have a "Z" initial for me to take home. They never do (No where ever has a bloody Z) I also don't live anywhere near an Oliver Bonus. Closest on to me is Edinburgh.. Just a 3 and a half hour journey away. Bit too much effort for a coaster, no matter how beautiful!

ANYWAY. My days of longing over the £12 Oliver Bonus marble coasters are gone thanks to good old Matalan. I found the most amazing dupe in there. They are identical. They are made out of thick cut, heavy stone and engraved with the gold foiled single initial. And... They had a bloody Z now didn't they! Check them out, Matalan Alphabet Marble Coasters. How amazing are these?

Oh and do you want to know the best part? £3. Yes.. Three whole pound. What a bargain! I couldn't believe it. The quality of them is outstanding and for only £3? I am so pleased with them! Trust me when I say you need one of these. I would have been skeptical if I had only seen them online at first because for £3 I would instantly think they'd be made out of some cheap, plastic feeling material. It was only because I caught sight of them when I was in store that I knew they were amazing quality.

I then had to order them online because my store only had a few left (and none were a Z... Of course.) but online have every letter of the alphabet on there, so order until your little heart is content! I think everyone is going to get one in their Christmas stocking this year...

What do you think of this dupe? Are they something you're going to be running to tour local Matalan to pick up (I hope so!)?

Thanks for reading!

La Roche Posay Lipikar AP+ Anti-irritation Stick

Recently, I have started suffering with the odd patch of eczema, something I have never had to deal with before. My skin has always been fairly normal and non sensitive. According to my Doctor, my eczema comes from stress (Great) which I suppose does make sense as when I feel myself getting riled up, I itch. I itch the patch that is on the crease of my left arm until it is red and sore. Not ideal.

The patch on my left arm isn't my main concern, really. It is fairly easy to hide and doesn't look particularly aggressive or painful. It tends to just look a bit red and flaky, even after a severe stressy-itching session. I find though it will flare up every now and again, especially when stressed but overall, is fairly easy to treat. My main concern though, is the index finger on my left hand. Ouch. It is not easy to cover up, nor does it just flare up with stress. I'd describe it as a constantly angry, crying mess that affects my daily life. I will insert photos below- it is pretty rank. Be warned.

Nothing would really work, in fact, most things would end up just making it look or feel worse. Until I found La Roche Posay Lipikar AP+ Anti Irritation Stick. This makes an instant difference to my skin and how it feels. If my eczema is flaring up and becoming itchy and irritated I apply the Lipikar stick right over it and it instantly starts to stop the itching- I couldn't believe it!

So it is safe to say it tackled the patch on my arm in no time at all. Not only did it help to relieve my skin from the constant itching, it has actually visibly reduced and healed it. To the point where it is practically gone. How amazing is that! But again, my main concern was this rank finger of mine. Which at this point was potentially worse than the above photo, as it had actually started to crack (Mmmm) and seep (Yum) so yeah... Things were not looking great!

This is my hand now:

As you can see- there is a massive improvement! The skin is healing nicely, there is little to no redness and only a minimal amount of dryness. I am so happy with the results! The eczema started to heal up very quickly after introducing the Lipikar stick. Also, it did not cause any irritation or stinging, like I had experienced with other products

Despite actually working, here are the other things I love about the Lipikar Anti Irritation Stick:

- The texture- it is a super lightweight, non greasy balm. It sits nicely on the skin, doesn't feel heavy. This is something that always concerned me about using products labelled as "suitable for eczema prone skin", I just imagined a thick, greasy cream. Yuck. Not the case though- especially great since I have been using it on my hand!

- I love the fact it is in a stick, so it makes applying the product super easy and hygienic!

- The price. £13 and quite often on sale/reduced. Simple as that!

- It doesn't have a scent, which I know is a big thing for a lot of people.

- And I just bloody love and trust La Roche-Posay as a brand. They never let me down and definitely know their stuff. I am super keen to check out the rest of the Lipikar range

Of course, please keep in mind that this is just my personal experience and opinions. I can not guarantee that you will get the same results for any skin condition you may use Lipikar stick to tackle. I hope you get the same results I do, but just keep in mind everyone skin is so different and reacts to different things.

Have you tried the La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Anti Irritation stick before? What did you think of it? Also, are there any other products you'd recommend for treating eczema?

Let me know by leaving a comment below!

June 2018 Beauty Favourites | Zoe Major

June 2018 Beauty Favourites

Anastasia Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette // £43
This has got to be one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes ever. I was unsure whether to pick it up or not but decided to treat myself with I was in Sephora in Paris. My only advice is- Get it. Get it now! I have worn it on the last couple nights out I have been on and loved it. It is great for creating a smoky look, as it has a great selection of matte, smoky colours. I also love the more shimmery shades too, which are really metallic and bold on the eyes.

Evian Face Spray // £3.50
Since it has been so hot in Scotland recently, this Evian face spray has been a life saver. I am well aware there aren't many benefits of this spray, other than simply cooling you down but honestly, that is all I want it for! It is amazing for taking away to the beach, holiday etc as it instantly cools ans refreshes. I love a face spray but this one is by far the best for instantly cooling the skin.

The Body Shop Banana Shower Cream // £5
The banana bodycare range is the newest edition to The Body Shop and I love it. It has a super sweet, fruity scent that really lingers on the skin. I love the shower gel in particular as it has the same cream texture that I love from some of the other shower gels from The Body Shop. If you like sweet scents, you need to check this out!

The Ordinary Multi-peptide Hair Growth Serum // £15
I have been using this hair serum for around 3 weeks now and I do think I have seen a difference in the condition of my hair. It has grown a fair amount and overall feels and looks thicker. I also find that it has been far stronger, meaning split ends are now less common for me. When you apply it to the hair, it doesn't feel heavy or greasy and depending on how much you apply, usually sinks in and leaves no trace on the hair. I always apply it at night before bed so I get the benefit of sleeping in it.

Benefit POREfessional // £26
An oldie but a goodie! I have loved using Benefit POREfessional just on areas I feel like large pores are an issue. It instantly blurs the skin, making pores disappear and leaving a smooth, prepped base. I only apply it where I need it as I do not find it a great primer for all over (I find my foundation can stick to it) but applied purely to blur pores works a treat.

La Roche Posay Lipikar Anti-irritation Stick // £13
I have recently come out in the odd patch of eczema (Great.) the worst of it being on the crease of my left arm. When it flares up, it get so itchy and uncomfortable. I have recently started using the La Roche Posay Lipikar stick and it has worked a dream! It is designed to sooth the itching and cover the skin in a protective layer- it really works! Within a few minutes of applying it, the itching stops. I also find it has  helped reduce the appearance of the eczema as well, as even when it isn't irritated, it still looks red and blotchy. Since applying the lipikar stick, it has reduced the redness a lot. I really recommend this if you suffer from mild eczema!

The Body Shop Body Yogurts REVIEW

The Body Shop have launched their new Body Yogurts for Summer. A new lightweight but nourishing body moisturiser in 5 different scents.

I will start by saying the texture of these are by far their biggest selling point. If you are super lazy when it comes to body care (like I am- give me an hour to potter away with skincare on my face and I'll be happy, but bodycare? Nah.) you will love these. They claim to absorb in 15 seconds.. And I would say they're pretty bang on with that. You can apply the body yogurt to your legs, move on to your arms and by the time you've done that, the product has absorbed on your legs and you can whack your clothes straight on.

The Ordinary's Best Prodcucts | Zoe Major Beauty Blog

Like most of us, I am also under the love spell of Deciem, And for good reason. The brand provides amazing, high quality products for the most reasonable prices. Everything product I mention in this post is under £10. In fact, you could buy all 3 for under £20. Be warned they're all some kind of acid.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Gel Moisturiser REVIEW

Having oily/combination skin means finding a lightweight, easily absorbed moisturiser is key. If it doesn't disappear in seconds, it ain't for me! So, I was very intrigued when The Body Shop released their new Vitamin E Gel moisturiser. It promises to give 48 hours of hydration, whilst being non-greasy and fast absorbing. The label says it is for "normal/combination" skin types, however, if you are full on oily, I'd still recommend this.

The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation REVIEW

The Body Shop Fresh Nude foundation has been my go-to, everyday foundation for probably about a year now, so I thought it was about time I wrote a proper review on it. It appeared in my 2017 Top 5 Products, as well as various other posts- so a full dedicated review is long overdue! I'll start by saying I never expected to love the Fresh Nude foundation as much as I do now. I honestly think this is such a great foundation for all skin types, especially if you want something you can wear everyday that makes you skin look and feel great, without being heavy or too much for an everyday base.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Cleansing Oil in Gel REVIEW

Another day, another cleanser for me to drool over. Today's contestant is the new Oil in Gel cleanser from The Body Shop. It belongs to the Oils of Life range, which is one of the skincare ranges I recommend the most from The Body Shop. All the products contain pure, cold pressed seed oils that work wonders on the skin.
So, The Body Shop have expanded the Oils of Life to now include their first ever cleanser in the range, which is so exciting! I feel like this is a product that so many people are going to love.

February Favourites 2018 | Zoe Major Beauty

The Body Shop Vitamin C Liquid Peel // £18
I enjoy using the liquid peels from The Body Shop on my face, as they are designed to be used. It effectively removes dead skin and leaves your face feeling super smooth and prepped. However, one of the girls in work (Hi, Lidi, if you're reading. I miss you!) told us all about how she has been using the Vitamin C as a peel.. on her feet! I immediately went home and tried it out for myself and it has now become a staple in my weekly routine. It is like a mini pedicure at home! It visibly lifts away dead skin leaving your feet so soft! It is amazing on your heels, where dry skin can be an issue. It will get rid of it in one use! I love it. You only need to use one pump of product per foot too, so no more than you'd be using on your face. You need to try it!

Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant // £55
No, you're not having Deja Vu, I did have Dermalogica Superfoliant in last months favourites, too. I have just continued to use it and as much as I hate to say it, keep falling more and more in love with it. It is just great for "gritty" skin. When your skin feels a bit rough and uneven, you can slap some of this on and it leaves your skin smooth and exfoliated. Now the reason I am annoyed for enjoying it so much is because it comes in at £55. Yes, that is right. I got sent this product by Dermalogica but it is getting to the point where I may have to set aside £55 every few months for a repurchase because it really is that good.

TARTE Shape Tape Concealer // £22
I wrote a full review on Tarte Shape Tape (which you can read here) but I just had to feature it again in a favourites post because I have used this every day without fail. It has come in especially handy since February has, for some reason, been the month of breakouts for me. Hooray. I suppose it is a good thing because it has allowed me to put TARTE's "full coverage" claim to the test and it did indeed pass. It covered everything I needed it to, without things getting too cakey.

The Body Shop Hemp Lip Balm // £4.50
My beloved Nivea lip balm sadly went through the wash (RIP) so in the mean time, I was slapping on the Hemp Lip Balm from The Body Shop and whilst not so exciting and glamorous, it does a bloody good job. It is described as being a "heavy duty" lip balm and I couldn't agree more. It really hangs around on the lips and creates a protective barrier that really locks in moisture, protecting your lips from any drying elements such as the cold, wind, sun etc. I constantly have this on me now and even though I still love my wee Nivea lip balm, I am glad I came across this one. It is also free from all the usual crap I avoid in lip balms/all products (such as mineral oil)

Tarte Shape Tape REVIEW

Yup.. So it happened. I have well and truly fallen into the Tarte Shape Tape trap.

My boyfriend very kindly accepted the challenge of taking my Sephora shopping list on holiday to Florida with him last year. Of course, being the UK blogger that I am, Shape Tape was top of that list. I had serious FOMO watching all the American Youtubers talking about it and not being able to try it myself. Seriously, how rude!

So, "full coverage" isn't really my thing when it comes to bases. My foundations are always on the light-medium side of the scale. Concealer, however, I like to be a little bit more heavy duty. Not sure why.

Tarte Shape Tape is most definitely heavy duty. Don't let that put you off though! It wears beautifully on the skin. I use it mainly under my eyes in a triangle shape and maybe draw some funky lines on my forehead and chin if I'm feeling fancy (Am I a blogger yet?) I then pat it all out with a damp Beauty Blender sponge and love the look it gives.

It definitely adds more coverage, yet looks really flawless on the skin. I love how effortlessly it meshes into the skin, leaving a really radiant finish. I have found if I don't spend enough time blending it, it can go a bit patchy throughout the day, however, I'd assume that would happen with most products. Taking the time to really mesh and blend it with the skin makes it look more natural and flawless. It also lasts really well throughout the day, I never have any problems with it creasing or sliding off my face.

So, yeah.. Believe the hype on this one basically.

Have you given Tarte Shape Tape a go? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Top 5 Beauty Products of 2017

Nivea Smooth and Protect Lip Balm
Possibly the most basic, fuss free product I have ever talked about on my blog but it is just so good I had to talk about it. This little Nivea lip balm cost me a couple pounds and is easily one of the best products I discovered in 2017. It is free from mineral oil which is  must for me when it comes to any product (but especially skincare) so it doesn't feel heavy or greasy on the lips. I keep it on me literally at all times and just throw it on whenever my lips feel dry or dehydrated. No matter how often I apply it either it never feels icky, like too thick or goopy on the lips.

The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation £16
Fresh Nude foundation has been my everyday foundation for 2017. I love how it wears throughout the day. For such a lightweight foundation, it really sticks around and lasts so well. It almost looks better and better as the day goes on. It is described as a "semi-matte" finish. If you have dry skin I would say semi-matte is the finish you will probably achieve, however, I have oily skin and it definitely leans on the more dewy side for me, especially a few hours in. I set it down with a generous amount of translucent powder (more to come on that!) and it looks great all day. It has a light coverage that you can build up to a medium coverage by adding an extra layer. I just find it great for everyday! It looks so lovely and natural on the skin whilst still giving me coverage. There is  great shade range (16 shades) with lots of different undertones to choose from.

Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder £22
The powder I use to set my foundation is the Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder. This stuff is so good! If you want a setting powder that really sets everything in to place, but is totally invisible on the skin- this is your guy. I love applying it with a damp beauty blender. I dip my sponge straight into the powder and pat it all over the skin. It meshes flawlessly into the skin but really does lock everything into place. Despite being completely matte, it does not look cakey or heavy at all! I love how it looks under the eyes too- it does a great job at locking concealer into place and stops creasing. But again it does not look heavy, which is something that can easily happen under the eyes. You also get a lot of product! I've had my pot since May and I have barely made a dent in it.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid Treatment £5.80
My favourite skincare find not only of 2017 but possibly ever. Not to be dramatic but it really is that good. If you struggle with congestion on your skin, you need this guy. It wipes out congestion within a couple days and leaves the skin feeling so plump and supple. I love an AHA but lactic acid was one I hadn't used before, however, this has worked so well on my skin I will be looking into more products containing lactic acid. I have written a full review here if you want to know all the details but basically it is so bloody good and you need it in your life.

Vichy Mineral 89 Serum £25
Now you're probably sick of me banging on about Vichy Mineral 89 but I can't help it! I'm obsessed. If you have dehydrated skin, Mineral 89 will literally be your best friend. It instantly hydrates the skin and gets rid of any tightness caused by dehydration. It is super, super lightweight so sinks into the skin so easily without leaving any residue or stickiness, making it great for oily skin too! You can read my full review on Mineral 89 here! Oh and just in case you're on the ball and reading this as it goes up- Escentual are selling Mineral 89 for £14 instead of £25. I've attached the link that takes you straight there! GO GO GO.

So, those are my top 5 beauty products of 2017. What are yours? Let me know in the comments below.

My 2018 Blogging Goals

My 2018 Blogging Goals

Get Back Into Blogging
My main goal in 2018 is to properly get back into blogging. I have been blogging for around 4 years now, which is crazy. In 2016 I dropped out of the blogging game completely due to a mix of things including a broken laptop (main issue), laziness to get broken laptop fixed, a full time job and anxiety. A mean combination that left little time for my blog. However, I feel like 2018 is the year I am going to go for it! I really want to get back into my little blog and recreate my tiny space on the Internet.

Set and Stick to a regular upload schedule
So I am going to aim for 3 times a week. When I started I would upload Monday, Wednesday and Friday. That was before I worked full time, of course. I feel like that is still a pretty good routine to stick to though. I might have to drop down to twice a week but I'll see how I get on.

Write some different styles of posts..
Types of posts to try:
  • Personal posts (Anxiety? Friendship? 2017 Personal Highlights?)
  • Fashion (Favourite fashion accessories, OOTD)
  • Lifestyle (Favourite local places to visit (Brings in a new audience)
  • Blogging "Tips" (Photo props, apps for editing photos..)

Stats, stats, stats
I know a lot of people say stats don't matter. And to a lot of people that is true. To me, however, someone who is a (much) smaller blogger, tracking stats is key. It shows my progress, my growth. Or maybe when something isn't working. When you're still kind of figuring things out in terms of blogging, your stats and where they come from etc can help you improve a lot. you. Ya know?

Stats I am Tracking

  • Monthly Stat Progress (How many views I gained in that month)
  • Monthly View % comparison (% +/- vs last month)
  • Top 3 posts of the month (Most views)

Gain another sponsored post offer
Towards the end of 2017 I was offered my very first sponsored post (How exciting/scary!) You can check it out here! I would love to be given the opportunity to write another sponsored post. I might write a post on my "first sponsored post" experience because I feel like I could have done with that when I was writing mine and needing some tips and advice. What do you think?

What are your blogging goals? Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading.

The Body Shop Bouncy Eye Mask REVIEW

For me, an eye cream has to do 2 things; be super hydrating and feel nice. Basically. When I saw The Body Shop were expanding their Drops of Youth range to include the Bouncy Eye Mask* I was very excited. I have previously used (and loved) their Bouncy Sleeping Mask, which is a mask you pop on all over the skin, and sleep in. In the morning your skin feels ah-maze-ing. I have a full review of the Bouncy Sleeping Mask I wrote a couple years ago when it first launched, have a look at that if you want full details!

Knowing the results I get from the Bouncy Sleeping Mask made me even more excited for the Bouncy Eye Mask. If it made my skin feel as plump and hydrated as the Bouncy Sleeping Mask, count me in!

Vichy Mineral 89 REVIEW

Vichy Mineral 89 caught my eye immediately. I am so into serums designed to give instant hydration to the skin. Vichy Mineral 89 is a hyaluronic acid based serum that contains the highest amount of Vichy's Thermal Spa mineral water than any of their other products. Whilst the hyaluronic acid plumps, hydrates and preps the skin for moisture, the thermal water is designed to help protect the skin against environmental aggressors such as pollution, whilst also soothing the skin.

Basic Invite | #AD

When Basic Invite asked me to work with them I was delighted as I loved their approach to custom invites and cards. I immediately went on the website and was blown away by the endless options they had to offer. Whether it is a birthday party, BBQ, anniversary, engagement- you name it and Basic Invite will have a invitation waiting for you to truly customize to suit you!

I was given the opportunity to customize 6 invites of my choice. When I say customize, I do not mean simply change a colour or font here and there- Basic Invite allow you to customize pretty much anything on your invites. From colour, font, text size/position, boarder sizes etc etc.. It goes on and on! And of course, your envelope in which your invites come in are customizable too! I was able to change the colour of mine to match the colour theme of my invite perfectly. Basic Invite over 180 colour options so you will always be able to find a colour that suits what you are going for.

I loved a lot of the Invite designs already on there but with the level of customization I was able to change it to suit exactly what I was looking for. The website offers a live preview of your changes as and when you make them, so there is no waiting around or guessing how something is going to look- everything happens as you make the changes, which I loved! It made the process a lot easier and saved time, too.

Talking about the actual designs of the invites, Basic Invite have so much variety. You can choose something really simplistic and classic or go for something more colourful and fun! I was able to choose a couple various designs- as an example of one of the more elegant invitations I chose this beautiful New Years party design. I loved the silver colouring and the overall simplistic yet eye catching design. Basic Invite also offer to have your invites to be printed in a foil font, which looks exceptionally beautiful and is available in gold, silver and rose gold- Perfect for adding that extra special touch to your invites! This feature is lovely for invitations for a holiday party as the foiling looks very festive.

An example of one of the more fun and playful invites is this lovely Valentines design. Originally printed to be used as an invite to a party for friends but using the customizing options I was able to re-create it into a personalized invite, individually inviting my boyfriend for a romantic dinner in a cute and playful way. I love it!

The colour previews on the website are very accurate. My invitations arrived looking exactly how they previewed on the website. The colours are bold and pigmented and the over all invitations are of an amazing quality.

When you have customized your invites to exactly how you want them, Basic Invite offer an amazing service where you can order a sample of your invite and have it sent right to your door so you are able to see the invite in real life before committing to ordering! I love this service and it is something I have never seen offered on any other site.

Basic Invite also offer a variety of other products- one of my favourites being these beautiful business cards. Again, I was so impressed with the amount of designs already available to choose from and was very easy able to customize my business card to exactly how I like it. I also loved the thank you cards and the RSVP cards.

With the business cards I love how you can change them to truly reflect your branding and image. I went for this pretty, watercolour floral print. I thought it represented my branding well as I was able to alter the colours to reflect the pastel, watercolour theme that matches my blog design. This is something I have never been able to do before but thanks to the endless levels of customizing you can do with Basic Invite I was able to create my perfect card.

Thank you to Basic Invite for working with me on this post! I highly recommend you hop over to Basic Invite and check them out yourself.

Thanks for reading!

The Body Shop's Best Products

The Body Shop tend to be known for their old classics- such as White Musk, Vitamin E cream and Hemp Hand cream, but recently they have released some amazing products I recommend you check out. Working at The Body Shop gives me the opportunity to give everything a good try and I have narrowed it down to my favourite products they have to offer.

First up...
