The Ordinary Peeling Solution REVIEW

Just me again. With yet another AHA/BHA product. My fave!
Today I am going to tell you all about the new cult product from The Ordinary- Their "AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution" to be exact. I am sure you will have seen loads of photos of the Ordinary's peeling solution plastered online- mainly in the form of gals and guys posting selfies to show off its distinctive blood like appearance when on the skin. That isn't what caught my attention- what caught my attention was the whole "30% AHA" thing. I loooove me an AHA. The stronger the better for me! The Ordinary's Peeling Solutions comes in at a exceptionally reasonable £6.30, by the way.

I shall start by saying this mask is not for a "first time using acids" kind of situation. I'd recommend the Peeling Solution only if you are very familiar with acids and how your skin takes to them etc.. As this guy is strong. Also, if you have sensitive skin I am afraid you are probably going to have to sit this one out. :(

I applied about one full pipette's worth and applied it over the skin using just my fingers.
As soon as I applied the Peeling Solution to my face the tingling started- Yessss. I love nothing more than feeling the acids working away on my skin! The tingling was quite intense for the first few minutes before settling down considerably. The instructions specify to only leave it on the skin for 10 minutes, and in all honesty you wouldn't need to leave it on for longer anyway! You can feel it working away the second you apply it to your skin, so I would do as your told and remove it after 10 minutes.

As far as instant results, my skin felt so much smoother after just one application. Any surface texture I had over my nose etc was completely smoothed out. My skin also looked considerably more radiant and glowy, too! I can't wait to see the long term results from this treatment. Despite being such a strong acid at no point did my skin became irritated or even red after use. I read into this and the Peeling Solution contains an ingredient called Tasmanian Pepperberry which specifically helps to reduce irritation and sooth the skin during application. I am also going to assume that is what gives the Peeling Solution it's blood red colouring!

As far as the next day goes- I found my skin still looked super radiant as well as maintaining the smooth texture. I found the more stubborn congestion had reduced considerably also. My makeup went on really evenly as well!

I tend to steer clear of AHA masks/treatments simply because I find them far less effective than using something like an AHA toner but more regularly.. This is the first mask/treatment that I can happily say I noticed an instant difference with after one use. Over time the Peeling Solution is meant to help to improve skin texture, fine lines and the overall radiance of your skin.

I would suggest using this once/twice a week, especially to begin with and if you are not using any other acids in your routine. It is a very strong treatment product that delivers amazing results- you should not need to use it more than twice a week to see results. Oh and of course, slap on your SPF for after as AHA's make your skin more sensitive to sun damage.

My only complaint is trying to get hold of the stuff! The Ordinary have taken the industry by storm so it is so difficult to get hold of. I finally managed to nab mine from Cult Beauty in the end. The Ordinary are available on ASOS, Feel Unique and Beauty Bay but you need to be quick if you want to grab one of your own!

Have you tried the Peeling Solution by The Ordinary? Let me know what you thought in the comments below!

Thank you for reading.
