REVIEW The Body Shop Firming Range Spa of The World

The Body Shop have expanded their luxurious Spa Of The World bodycare range to now include the "Firming Ritual". The new line features 3 products;

Thai Markrut Lime Firming Oil £18
French Grape Seed Scrub £22
Ethiopian Green Coffee Cream £25

All the products are made with ingredients specifically designed to firm and tone the appearance of the skin. I am so impressed with this range! Usually, when I see products claiming to "reduce cellulite" and "visibly firm the skin" I think it is all a marketing scheme and forget about it. However- I am truly so impressed with the Firming Range from The Body Shop.

I noticed a difference in the appearance of my skin the first time I used it. Did it completely wipe away any trace of cellulite? No. But it did make my skin look and feel smooth, toned, even- Basically everything you want your skin to look like!

My favourite product has to be the Lime Firming Oil- admittedly the product I thought I would like the least. I am not a big body oil person in the slightest, when I think about body oils "greasy mess" comes to mind but this body oil is something else. Firstly, you can use it in so many different ways. Of course, you can use it on it's own if you like to use body oils purely for moisturising. However, because this is a firming oil I like to really make sure I get the benefit from that so I have been layering it under all my body care products.

My favourite way to use it is underneath the Grape Seed Scrub. I apply it directly to wet skin (so yeah, I use it in the shower- which reminds me- it makes the shower very slippery, so be careful!) and massage it in, I then apply my Grape Seed Scrub directly over the top. This really helps to enhance the firming properties of the products. I saw a difference after one use, my skin instantly looks far smoother, more even and toned- not to mention so soft and smooth to touch!

The texture of the oil is gorgeous! It is so lightweight, allowing it to instantly sink into the skin leaving no greasy residue behind, yet it still feels luxurious and nourishing. The scent it gorgeous- a light zesty fragrance, which comes from the lime extract.

Now, more about this Grape Seed Scrub. For me, a scrub has to be very abrasive for me to like it. When I saw this was a sugar based scrub, I imagine it melting away instantly due to the heat of the water in the shower. I was pleasantly surprised by a) how scrubby it was! and b) the fact that it did not melt away. Yay!

The texture is super thick and goopy, which for a scrub is amazing as it allows you to really buff it over the skin without it disappearing. Like I said, I layer this ontop of the oil which helps the scrub move over the skin nicely. This instantly makes my skin look and feel so smooth, I honestly see a difference in the appearance of my skin when I use this. My legs look so smooth and even and I do think it makes a difference with the appearance of cellulite.

The Coffee Cream is the product I have played with the least. I like the texture, it is a super lightweight gel cream which makes it perfect for layering up with the Lime Oil. It doesn't smell like coffee- which is what surprised me the most! It has a super high caffeine content (one of the main ingredients) which is what gives the firming properties. If you're looking for a lovely, lightweight but still hydrating cream, I would recommend you give this one a go!

Overall, I am so impressed with the Firming Ritual from The Spa of The World collection. I'd suggest going into store and asking for a free hand massage (something all stores will offer!) which is a great way to try out the product before you buy it.

Have you tried the new firming ritual from The Body Shop? Let me know what you thought of it below!
