Face Masks (and Treatments) That Actually Work

Skincare can have a lot of crazy claims as it is, but I find especially with the likes of masks and treatments. This can make it difficult to find masks that actually work on the skin and don't just have a bunch of ridiculous claims attached to their name. I have a few masks and treatments that I find really effective and reach for on a weekly basis. From treatments that help with blemishes, to moisture replenishing masks, I've put together a selection of my top masks and treatments that actually work.

Kylie Jenner Lip Kit Review and Swatches

Kylie Lip Kit review, Kylie Lip Kit swatches, Candy K Swatch, Posie K swatch, Dolce K swatch, Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Lip Kit review

Like the World really need another Kylie Lip Kit review but here is mine anyway. I feel like I resisted the hype for a long time. Reading about how she apparently just slapped a $29 price tag on a white label product ticked me off, to put it nicely. But after seeing snap after snap of the lip kits on Instagram and the improved packaging (The box really did it for me) I couldn't resist when my Sister said she was going to place an order.

REVIEW The Body Shop Oils of Life Sleeping Cream

The Oils of Life Sleeping Cream* (£28) is the newest edition to the Oils of Life range at The Body Shop. With sleeping masks/creams seeming to be a very popular trend in the skincare world, I was not surprised to see The Body Shop hopping on board with that trend.

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder Review. Worth the Hype?

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder Review, Zoe's Beauty Blog

The Laura Mercier Translucent Powder first caught my attention when I saw it being continuously raved about on beauty vloggers channels such as Jaclyn Hill and Manny Mua. Even though all I heard was good things I still couldn't help but think about the £29 price tag attached to a translucent powder.  So I thought I'd put it to the test and see if it was worth the hype.

Lets start with how it looks/feels on the skin. I apply it with my Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder brush. Despite dusting this generously all over my skin, it is practically invisible. It meshes seamlessly with the skin and gives a almost blurred/perfected look. I've never had the issue of it looking chalky or cakey at all, even when I have purposely applied more than necessary. It feels super lightweight on the skin too making it really comfortable to wear.

The main reason I got this powder was I heard it was great for keeping the skin shine-free, without looking heavy or completely flat. I have oily skin but like a glowy look, so I wanted a powder to stop me crossing the fine line between glowy and shiny. This powder does that. It definitely makes a difference in how shiny my skin gets throughout the day. Does it keep me completely matte and shine free? No. Do I want it to keep me completely matte and shine free? No. I have found my skin is no where near as shiny as it would be by the end of the day if I was wearing a different powder but it still looks healthy and radiant. If you wear to use a matte foundation and set it with this, then I'd say you'd be pretty certain to stay matte all day. I just like that it controls oils slightly and just gives a good balance.

It wears wonderfully throughout the day. It doesn't go patchy or oxidize at all. It keeps my makeup set in place really well and like I mentioned earlier, keeps my skin looking glowy but not shiny. I honestly did not think I would see this much of a difference from a simple translucent powder but I am honestly really impressed. I mean, I am sure you could find a cheaper alternative out there somewhere but until then, I am more than happy with the Laura Mercier powder and am glad I have found something that works as well as it does.

Have you tried the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder? Or have you found a more affordable dupe? Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading.

March Beauty Favourites 2016 | Zoe's Beauty Blog

My first favourite is a new lip combination from The Body Shop. I have loved layering their lip liner in Clover Pink with the new Lip and Cheek Stain in Dusty Rose. I wrote a whole post about the must have combination here, but basically it is a super on trend mauvey, nudey, pink combination that is super comfortable and easy to wear.
