Pixi Glow Peel Pads REVIEW

Pixi glow peel pads, Pixi glow peel pads review

I wrote about the Pixi Glow Peel Pads in my Pixi Skincare Review post a couple months back. I stated in that post that I was not reaching for them as much as I hated the sticky/tacky film they left on my skin. Turns out I need to reach the How To Use directions as I was using them completely wrong. Since discovering that you actually need to wash the sticky/tacky layer off your skin after 2-3 minutes, I now love the Pixi Glow Pads. Imagine that, right?

So, why do I like these so much? Firstly, they are super strong - and you can feel it. The Pixi Glow Pads contain 20% glycolic acid and oh boy, I can tell. As soon as I swiped the pad over my skin, I immediately felt the intense tingling/stinging sensation, to the point where I stopped for a moment in a kind of "Whoa!" moment. I like being able to feel the acid working away on my skin, it makes me think "Yeah, this is working!" So they get major brownie points for that. With that being said, this might be a drawback for some people as it makes them not so suitable for any sensitive faces out there or ones to use as your first ever acid treatment, you may find them too intense.

The second reason I love them is they bloody work! I have tried a lot of acid exfoliating masks/treatments and have seen no results from them, I have always been so disappointed. They didn't leave my skin feeling any different or looking any brighter, so what was the point? Until the Pixi Glow Pads, I found the only effective acid treatments were toners that I could use everyday to add a natural glow and light exfoliation.

I see an immediate difference in my skin after using the Pixi Glow Pads. My skin instantly feels smoother and more refined. My pores appear smaller and overall, my skin just looks far more even (and very pink straight after use, but what can you expect!) I also find these help to keep my skin clearer, too. Since using these, I've found they help to get rid of any active blemishes far quicker and they get rid of the marks left behind too! I find my makeup sits really nicely after I have used the Pixi Glow Pads, so I love using one before a night out to get a really smooth, even base.

And the third reason is they are so quick and easy to use. There is no faffing around with applying a mask and having to stand like a lemon or find something to do for 10-20 minutes. The Pixi Glow Pads only need to be left on the skin for 2-3 minutes. 2-3 minutes, that is it! Which makes them so much easier to use as you don't need to set time aside to use them.

The instructions on the back say you can use the Glow Pads twice daily - I, personally, think that is slightly excessive and would suggest using these as more of a treatment product about 2-3 times a week. That is how often I use them and I see great results.

Mini Kiehl's Skincare Haul (and why I love the brand)

Kiehl's is a brand I absolutely love. Not only are their products great, a few of them standing out as holy grail items to me, I also just love them as a brand. Being a smaller blogger it is harder to get "noticed" by brands, I always find Kiehl's super supportive. They always take the time to thank bloggers for their posts and often retweet and favourite posts, which as a smaller blogger, can really help people see your work and gives me a bit of a confidence boost that a brand likes and takes interest in my work. Their customer service is amazing (I am still a customer to them more than anything) and they always take the time to reply to tweets, offer advice and ensure you receive the best service possible.

REVIEW Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Benefit Hoola bronzer review

I really do wonder how I went this long without Benefit Hoola bronzer in my everyday makeup routine. And the funny thing is, I've had a little travel size sat unopened in my collection for a while now. I am not sure what made me pull it out one day a few weeks ago but I am so glad I did because it has shot straight up to "Holy Grail" status for me.

I have been mourning the loss of my beloved Honey Bronzer in 02 from The Body Shop for months now. I have been trying out other bronzers but none of them made the cut. They were all either too orange or too cool, oxidized throughout the day or didn't wear well. Hoola, however, is perfect.

What I love most about Hoola is the shade, obviously. For me, it sits perfectly between contour and bronzer. It is cool enough to place in the hallow of your cheeks and it is going to sculpt and define. But also warm enough that you can apply this around the face as a bronzer. The shade is quite light, which works for me as I am quite pale. I'd say if you had a darker complexion, this may not show up too well. Hoola also wears really well throughout the day and does not oxidize, this is a problem I have with a lot of bronzers.

Hoola is very pigmented, you only need to dip your brush in once to get enough colour for one side of your face. I have to admit I have gone over board a few times. I use the Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder brush to apply it. The Sheer Powder brush is a great shape and blends the product easily over the skin. It also doesn't pick up too much product, which is great as I said earlier that Hoola is very pigmented.
I talked about how much I love pairing Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm with Hoola as my highlight in my February Favourites. The two really compliment each other and look great on the skin.

Have you tried Benefit Hoola bronzer before? What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks for reading!

Must Have Lip Combo from The Body Shop (NEW Stains and Liners)

If you are on the hunt for that perfect on trend, Kylie Jenner inspired lip look, that is comfortable on the lips, look no further. The Body Shop have re-vamped their lip liners, as well as added a whole new line of lip stains to their makeup collection. I recently picked up a couple of the products to try out and have found a new combination that I love.

February Favourites 2016

I wrote a whole post about my £1 MAC Soar Dupe in February, which features the Primark 09 Lip Liner. As mentioned, this is not only a fantastic dupe for MAC Soar but it is overall a great pencil. For only £1 it wears well on the lips. It doesn't feel overly drying but hangs around for a good amount of time. The pigment and colour pay off it great too. For £1 you can't really get much better!

My bronzing/highlighting combination of the month has been Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm and Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I'll start with Benefit Hoola as this was a product I have seen being raved about by bloggers for years but a product, that for some reason, never really took my fancy. I had a tiny little baby size I must have got in a kit once hiding away in my stash and randomly decided to pull it out one day. The colour of this is perfect. It is not too cool or too warm, it sits perfectly in the middle to where it gives you that slight shadow of a contour but the warms and definition of bronzing.

Mary-Lou Manizer is a highlighter I have been using for a while now but I just find it looks especially good when paired with Benefit Hoola. The two work nicely together, I think maybe due to the more cool tones. I find it just gives a natural but still glamorous looking contour and highlight.

My skincare favourite for the month is the Pixi Glow Peel Pads (£24) I wrote a post, Pixi Skincare Review, back in January and talked about these pads. Turns out, I was using them wrong! I complained in that post that they left an oily film over my skin which honestly, was kind of putting me off using them and I wasn't reaching for them as regularly as I would have liked but despite that, I did enjoy them. Soo, you actually have to wash that off after 2-3 minutes. DUUHH. Since doing that, I love these even more! They leave my skin so smooth and soft. you can instantly feel the difference just after those few minutes. I also find they've been helping to keep my skin clear and it looks more evened out. I now use these far more regularly and I love the results they give.

My last favourite is a body care product which is rare for me as I am the laziest person when it comes to body care! But I have really enjoyed using The Body Shop's Camellia Cream from their Spa of The World Range. First of all, it smells divine. But what I love most is it has the most beautiful texture. It is so light and fluffy, yet is so moisturising on the skin. I love how quickly it absorbs too, as I hate body moisturisers that feel heavy or tacky on the skin. I use this on my legs mainly and have seen such a difference in my skin since using it, my legs are super smooth and soft.

Those are my favourites for the month of February! What were your favourites?

Thanks for reading.
